The web is dead, and integration and out sourcing

The article which this post argues:

Somehow this argument reminded me of the notion of Christensen about integration and out sourcing. Usually services and products are integrated in order to be more convenient, but in the phase that the convenience of the services and products overshoots customer demands, out sourcing grows for reducing the costs, then at a certain point it starts to integrate again.

I’m not sure yet whether the web is dead or not, but the Internet may enter the phase of integration now. Apple makes me feel like that. They integrate hardware and software platform with their closed scheme. Now customers are starting to realise the importance of the convenience and accessibility, and care it more than costs. If following the theory of Christensen, one day we reach the point that we can achieve the same convenience with standardised cheaper, or even free, scheme.
