Creativity and Personality

Does personality have influence on Creativity?
Although my point of view is based on the notion that everyone has creative capacity, personality might encourage or inhibit the activation of your creativity.

I found there are two popular personality assessment frameworks: Five Factor Model (FFM or aka Big Five) and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).

Five Factors:
-Extraversion
-Agreeableness
-Conscientiousness
-Neuroticism
-Openness

MBTI :
It shows personality with four pairs of preferences form four dichotomies.
The dichotomies are:
Extraversion <-> Introversion
Sensing <-> iNtuision
Thinking <-> Feeling
Judging <-> Perceiving


Some researches show the correlations between FFM and MBTI:
Extraversion - Extraversion
Intuition – Openness to Experience
Feeling – Agreeableness
Judging – Conscientiousness
Introversion – Neuroticism (not so strong as others)


They have formal structure of validation, but if you just try it easily, you can try online tests.

In terms of the connection between creativity and each personality traits, there are a lot of different reports, so it has to be scrutinised in order to identify the proper connection.
