Avatar: a film of the "ecology generation"

I think one of the interesting points of this film is that the main characters fight against human beings even though they are human beings as well. It implies the message that our capacity of empathy can overwhelm the physical characteristics. It might be able to be called a kind of “American” film. You might feel the significance of diversity and understanding each other.

Is this kind of point of view, which is that human race can be an enemy, from our awareness of ecology? This is just my opinion, but in the past, communication and mutual understanding among different peoples are one of the big themes of fiction art works. Avatar made me feel a bit different to those traditional so-called humanistic films. It evokes the empathy with the fictional race, but other hand, human solders are easily killed without time to feel something about the characters.

Although this kind of films are not uncommon, which warn the stupidity of human race, this film seems to be one of the landmark of the “ecology generation”.
