Design as connecting

This article argues about new aspects of design education. The focal points of design education has been mainly on "design as doing (design practice)", and "design as thinking (design research)". The writer introduces the third dimention, "design as connecting (collaboration)". This concept is the same as our course in a sense, but we don't have rigid structure about it. Recently I have been feeling necessity of rigid structure of how to collaborate, or clear roles each person is in charge of. Otherwise, projects tend to be proceeded by traditional management style. It's ok if the main purpose is to learn pure management discipline, but it should be to learn "creative" management process, so if not rigid structure, at least the project brief has to ask a question which naturally makes the project teams take an creative attitude to solving problems.
